PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan inaugurated a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling on the premises of the court here on Monday.
All the judges of the high court along with the principal officers of the court participated in the plantation drive.
The objective of the drive is to raise public awareness on environmental pollution.
The chief justice in his message said tree plantation was essential to cope with environmental challenges, address rising temperatures and incessant weather patterns in the country.
The chief justice said planting and protecting trees would ensure healthy and purified environment to the future generations.
Justice Qaiser Rashid also directed all the district and sessions judges, additional registrars of high court benches and presidents of bar associations to plant saplings of evergreen trees on the premises of their respective courts.
