Sindh issues SOPs for Eid prayers, animal slaughtering

In view of surging Covid-19 cases and seeking strict compliance of the standard operating procedures (SOPs), the Sindh Home Department has issued a set of guidelines for Eid prayers and slaughtering of sacrificial animals.

Following are some of the key guidelines issued by the provincial government:

SOPs for Eid prayers

  • All Ulemas leading Eid prayers should be sensitised to keep sermons short sopeople remain present at prayer venue for a brief period.
  • People should not be allowed, under any circumstances, to enter a prayer venue without properface mask.
  • Prayer venues should have multiple entry and exit points to avoid convergence of crowd at a single point.
  • To ensure social distancing protocols, venue organisers must ensure prominent marking (at least 6-feet distance) to allow sufficient space between individuals.

SOPs for Qurbani

  • Hides of sacrificed animals should not be given to any banned outfit.
  • Sacrificing an animal should not be allowed at residential places.
  • Sites of slaughtering should be away from residential places.
  • Crowding around place of animal slaughtering should be avoided.
