LAHORE, Oct 29: PML-N MNA Khwaja Saad Rafiq has demanded formation of parliamentary committees at the federal and provincial levels to supervize the quake relief operations.

In a statement here on Saturday, he said opposition leaders, NGOs, media and business communities should also be given representation in the flood relief authority set up by the prime minister.

The PML-N leader said Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Ms Benazir Bhutto should be allowed to return home to take part in the relief activities.

He said troops carrying out relief activities in the quake-hit areas should work under the command of the civil authorities, as required by the Constitution.

Saad also demanded a timeframe for the withdrawal of NATO and US troops from the affected areas.
