UC nazim’s matric certificate fake

GUJRANWALA, Oct 29: The secondary school certificate of Union Council Nazim Asad Ullah, brother of PPP city chief Lalla Idris, was declared fake by Karachi education board, it is learnt on Saturday.

The board also barred the nazim from taking examination for three years.

Reports said a ruling PML defeated aspirant for the slot, Muhammad Akram Butt, had challenged Mr Asad’s matric certificate. The court concerned sent the certificate to Karachi education board for verification. The board gave its verdict after scrutiny of the relevant record and interviewing the nazim.

The election tribunal will begin hearing of the case on Nov 2.

Meanwhile, sessions court rejected the bail application of a disqualified MPA of the ruling PML, Mian Mazher Javed, in fake BA degree case.

Mr Javed’s rival Nasir Mahmood Cheema got registered an FIR against the former MPA and his brother Mian Tariq, Qila Dedar Singh Town Nazim, accusing them of having fake BA degrees.

However, the court confirmed the bail of Mr Tariq and directed him to submit Rs50,000 surety bonds.

SHOT DEAD: A woman and a minor boy were shot dead on Saturday by their rivals over an agricultural land dispute in Lohianwala village, Aroop.

Reports said that accused Nishan Ahmad, Mahmood Ahmad, Muzafer and Fiaz Ahmad wanted to kill Allah Ditta and Nishan’s daughter Saima for contracting a love marriage with her cousin Ilyas. But they took refuge in the houses of their relatives. On Saturday, Allah Ditta’s son Gulfam (11) was watching the accused from a neighbouring house when they shot him dead. The assailants also shot and killed Fatima Bibi for raising an alarm. Later, they escaped when the people gathered.

Police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating.
