MITHI: A 19-year-old youth died when lightning struck a village near Islamkot, Tharparkar, during heavy rains on Sunday.

The youth was identified as Hafiz Nizamuddin Bajeer, who fell victim to lightning in Mehari Bajeer village.

The downpour began in the evening and it was still raining when the the last reports came in at around 11pm.

Widespread rains lashed Islamkot, Nagarparkar and Mithi talukas on Sunday.
