HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has advised Sindh’s nationalist parties to play a role in parliamentary politics and said they should contest 2023 general election with electoral alliance.

PML-N Sindh chapter president Shah Mohammad Shah called on the Sindh Taraqi-passand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi on Wednesday and discussed political situation in Sindh.

Mr Shah told the STP chairman that the PML-N was struggling for real democracy and added that his party had tried in the past to restore “real democracy” in the country after taking all provinces on board.

He said it was necessary that Sindh’s nationalist parties, especially the STP, should play their role in parliamentary politics. He said that those parties would then be able to serve people of Sindh and protect their rights.

He said the PML-N wished that 2023 elections should be fought with alliance among Sindh’s nationalists.

The STP chairman said the PML-N was a democratic party and the STP had worked with it in the past. He said the STP welcomed PML-N’s proposal that nationalists should fight 2023 elections with an alliance. He said the STP was playing a dominant role at the parliamentary front.

If an electoral alliance was formed and played a role for democracy, Sindh’s nationalists would also play their role.

Agreeing to hold more meetings for consultations, he said the STP would consult its allies before joining any such alliance.
