Pakistan records less than 1,000 Covid cases for fifth straight day
Pakistan has recorded less than 1,000 Covid-19 cases for the fifth straight day. During the last 24 hours, 979 cases were reported after 42,062 tests were conducted.
The positivity rate during this period has been recorded as 2.3 per cent and the total number of cases reported so far has risen to 957,371.
Meanwhile, 27 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in the country, taking the death toll to 22,281.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 390,239 vaccine doses were administered in the country on June 29, and a total of 15,971,641doses have been administered thus far.
The breakdown of coronavirus cases and deaths reported during the last 24 hours is as follows:
- Sindh: 545 cases, 13 deaths
- Punjab: 144 cases, 7 deaths
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 120 cases, 5 deaths
- Balochistan: 62 cases, 1 death
- Gilgit-Baltistan: 38 cases
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 37 cases
- Islamabad: 33 cases, 1 death
