NAWABSHAH, Oct 26: The District Nazim Nawabshah, Ms.Faryal Talpur, has ordered an inquiry into the kidnapping of Hindu girl Amrita Kumari by a primary school teacher Abbas Unnar from Sakrand.

Talking to Dawn here on Wednesday, Ms.Talpur said that she had directed the executive district officer education to coordinate with police officials and if the school teacher, Abbas Unnar, was found guilty, strict disciplinary and departmental action would be taken against him.

She said that she was serving the people of Nawabshah without discrimination and safety and security of minorities was the responsibility of the district government.

Mr Ghulam Rasool Unnar, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Political Affairs, has also directed the police to conduct an inquiry.

Talking to this correspondent, he said that Hindu community was safe and secure and he had assured them of cooperation and justice.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Hindu Panchayat was held in Sakrand which was presided over by Mukhi Roopchand.

A ten-member committee including Rashandas, Govin-dram, Dr Prem, Kish-ordas, Tar-achand, Ishwarlal, Pannumal, Jhamandas and Ramesh Kumar, father of Amrita was also constituted.

It was decided that the community would pursue the case and would struggle for getting justice.

MNA, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also joined the Panchayat and assured them of his cooperation.

Mukhi Roopchand told reporters that they were being threatened and pressurised for talks. He said that the Panchayat would contest the case.

The Hindu Panchayat has demanded immediate termination of PST, Abbas Unnar and also demanded that section 364-A be included in the FIR lodged against him.

Meanwhile, Sakrand police have obtained remand of four persons nominated in kidnapping of the Hindu girl from court on Tuesday.
