Pressure on Covid vaccine supplies, distribution issues to ease by Tuesday: Dr Faisal

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan has said that issues affecting the supply of Covid-19 vaccines will be resolved by next week.

Taking to Twitter, the PM's aide said a total of 12.9 million doses have been administered so far. Giving a breakup of the past three days, he said 416,000 doses were administered on June 16, 266,000 on June 17 and 226,000 on June 18.

He added that the country had over one million vaccine doses available, while more were expected to arrive beginning June 20.

"Therefore any pressure in the system and local/distribution issues will be eased by Monday/Tuesday," he said.
