KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced to hold part-II annual exams of matriculation and intermediate from July 5 and July 26 respectively.
The provincial school education and literacy department on Friday issued the examination schedules following the decisions of a meeting of the steering committee held two days ago.
According to a notification issued by department secretary Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, examinations of the secondary school certificate (SSC) part-II will commence from July 5 while that of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) for the condensed syllabus of the elective subjects will begin from July 26.
The exams for part I of both classes will be held after the completion of the part II exams.
The paper pattern will comprise of 50 per cent multiple choice questions, 30pc short questions and 20pc long questions. The duration of three-hour exams will be reduced to two hours and two-hour exams to one hour.
Schools and colleges will conduct practical examinations and submit the award sheets with their respective boards.
Five additional marks will be awarded to the total obtained marks of the elective subjects of the SSC and HSC part II while average passing marks will be given in all compulsory subjects in order to compensate candidates.
Additional three marks will also be added to the candidates’ result of the SSC and HSC part I as per the Promotion Policy 2020.
Annual examinations-2021 for SSC part-II Technical School Certificate will commence by the Sindh Board of Technical Education from July 6 and the HSC part-II Diploma of Associate Engineer will start from July 27.
The examinations from class five to eight will be conducted by schools at their own convenience.
