AJK, Karachi varsities sign MoU

MUZAFFARABAD: The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) and the University of Karachi (UoK) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here on Thursday to establish inter-institutional cooperation and academic collaboration by supporting academic and research activities among the faculty and students of both institutions.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the city campus of UAJK. Dr Mohammad Naeem, director of the office of Research, Innovation & Commercialisation (ORIC) at the UAJK and Dr Aliya Rehman, his counterpart from the UoK were the signatories from their respective institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rehman said that the MoU would help UAJK faculty members as well as students benefit from research projects with different UoK departments. They will take part in development activities, industry visits, joint seminars, conferences, workshops, special lectures and training sessions.

In addition, UAJK students will also be able to avail services of the Business Incubation Centre (BIC) at UoK, she added.

The ceremony was also attended by UAJK Registrar Dr Ayesha Sohail. Earlier UAJK’s Director Planning Prof Dr Ansar Yaseen and Director Finance Prof Dr Mohammad Siddique Awan also spoke.
