PESHAWAR: Prof Mohammad Arif Khan, chief executive officer of the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), has been elected as secretary general of Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association.
It is for the first time that any member of the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association (POA) has secured a central post of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association.
Prof Arif, a former president POA, has been the head of department of orthopaedic and spine surgery at the Khyber Girls Medical College, Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar, since 2012.
He graduated from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, in 1988. He has to his credit one-year fellowship in spine and arthroplasty surgery each from the University of Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
