SUKKUR: Hearing of the National Accountability Bureau reference against senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, his several family members and associates was adjourned to June 15 after a prosecution witness deposed in the case.

Judge Fareed Anwar Qazi of the Sukkur Accountability Court recorded the statement of the witness, an employee of the revenue department.

Mr Shah was brought to the court in an ambulance from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Sukkur, where he has been under treatment for more than 18 months. Several other co-accused also attended the hearing.

According to the reference, Mr Shah along with 17 co-accused, including his two wives, two sons, two nephews and some associates, amassed Rs1.23 billion which appeared to be beyond his known sources of income.
