RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case against the owner of an allegedly unauthorised market and his accomplices on charges of torturing and manhandling officials of Enforcement Department of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).

The RDA officials were carrying out anti-encroachment operation in Bagha Sheikhan, the starting point of Rawalpindi Ring Road project.

The case has been registered under sections 506ii/353/342/186/148/149 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with Rawat Police Station (PS).

However, no arrest has been made by the police investigators, the police said.

According to FIR, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) official Mohammad Bilal Farooq lodged a complaint with Rawat police that a team of Enforcement Department of RDA led by Assistant Director Admin Asif Shabbir Tarar, reached Mouza Bagha Sheikhan on Chakbeli Khan at 11:30am to demolish ‘illegally’ built shops of Malik Mohammad Ikhlaq.

The RDA team comprised building inspectors Raja Arslan, Imran Jafri, Mukhtar, Mohammad Bin Gulraiz, Mohammad Amir, area inspector Mohammad Bilal and was assisted by local police, the complainant said.
