4,329 'mild' cases of Covid-19 vaccine side effects reported: PM’s aide

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said on Tuesday that 4,329 reports of “adverse effects” of Covid-19 vaccines had been received against 3.8 million jabs administered in Pakistan thus far.

The prime minister’s aide tweeted that nearly all reports were of “mild, expected side effects”, with 90 per cent pertaining to pain at the site of injection or fever.

He added that only six serious cases of side effects had been reported and each of those had been “investigated thoroughly”.

“Each [of the six cases was] found to be coincidental and non-attributable to [the] vaccine,” Dr Sultan said.
