KARACHI, Oct 22: Five vessels carrying raw sugar, steel and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where half a dozen ships were berthed. They are: Sagamore, Wan Hai-266, United Prosperity, Thor Captain, to unload and load containers, Ocean Flourish, to unload coal, and Pearl, to load rice.
Five ships, Norasia Polaris, Kota Teguh, Iran Shahryar, Le Yi and Clio departed on Saturday, while Chang Le Men, Wan Hai-266, United Prosperity, Sagamore, Great Morning, African Star and Muhieddine-1 are due to sail out on Sunday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow where a total tonnage handled fell to 65,256 tons comprising 15,588 tons of export cargo, including 2,339 tons of rice and 49,668 tons of import cargo, which also included 5,185 tons of sugar and 10,055 tons of DAP fertilizer.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Cape Bona Vista, Bunga Kenari, with containers, Shalamar, with crude oil, Yangtze River, with 42,300 tons of raw sugar, and Fiona-7, with 3,782 tons of steel cargo.
The following vessels are due on Monday: Challenge Express, to load 50,000 tons of naphtha, Iran Baluchistan, Yang Jaing He, with containers and Iran Yamin, with 10,000 tons of steel bars.
