LAKKI MARWAT: Five people, including an army soldier, were killed and four others injured in separate incidents in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts on Wednesday.
Police said that Havaldar Hamidullah came under firing attack near Masoom Kallay and died on the spot. They said the attackers escaped on a motorcycle.
Complainant Mohammad Rahi, father of the fallen soldier, told the police that two armed miscreants wearing masks intercepted them near Faqeer Masoom Kallay when he and his son Hamidullah were going home on a motorcycle from Naurang city.
Security plan devised for Eid in Bannu
“One of the attackers told the other that he is Hamidullah, a Pak army soldier,” he said and added that the other opened fire, killing his son on the spot. He told the police that he and his family had no enmity with anyone and that a terrorist organisation had killed his son.
The police said they had registered a case against unknown miscreants under section 302 (premeditated murder) of PPC and section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act.
Separately, a man was killed over a blood feud in Wanda Kalan village of Lakki city. Police said Qismat Khan and Karim Khan allegedly killed Sifat Ali Jan, 36. They said the Lakki Marwat police have registered the case.
In another incident, Niaz Ali was gunned down over a dispute emerging after children’s quarrel in Barlashti Bezankhel area of Bannu.
The township police said they had registered a case against the alleged killers Syed Ayub and Samood Khan.
Meanwhile, Fahad Khan, 16, died when a trailer truck hit his motorcycle on Kohat Road in Bannu. Police said his companion Wahid Khan was injured in the accident.
Police and witnesses said that another teenager Afaq, 14, died on Bannu-Miryan road in a collision between two motorcycles.
They said three other riders were also injured in the accident.
SECURITY PLAN: Police have devised a foolproof security plan to maintain peace during Eid days in Bannu.
In this regard, a meeting was chaired by district police officer Imran Shahid on Wednesday, which was attended by DSPs, SHOs and other police officials.
Under the plan, the police will increase patrolling in the urban and rural areas of the district to maintain law and order.
