Three die in Jamrud bus-truck collision

KHYBER: Three persons died and 16 others sustained injuries when an over-speeding passenger coach collided head-on with a truck on the Peshawar-Torkham highway in Jamrud here on Monday.

Rescue 1122 media coordinator Maqsood Alam said the collision occurred in Sur Kamar area, killing three passengers on the spot.

He said the passenger van was carrying Afghan nationals from Rawalpindi to Torkham.

The coach was overtaking another vehicle when it collided with the truck.

The deceased included the coach driver namely Hazrat Bilal hailing from Pabbi, and Lal Gul and Khushhal, both Afghan nationals.

Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the injured to the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar. Bodies of the two Afghans were sent to Afghanistan.
