British envoy hails capital admin

ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner Dr Christian Turner has appreciated Islamabad’s administration for timely action to remove trash from Margalla Hills National Park.

In his tweet on Saturday, he appreciated Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat and Chief Metropolitan Officer Shafaq Hashmi for timely action. Both the officers on the directive of Chief Commissioner and Chairman CDA Amer Ali Ahmed visited the national park and supervised an operation.

“Bahut shukriya @ShafaqHashmi PAS @hamzashafqaat @dcislamabad for your commendable concern & action. I am humbled by the many responses - let’s keep working together for the #CleanIslamabadCampaign,” Dr Turner tweeted.

On Friday, he had tweeted: “Another Friday morning walk another two bags of litter. Safaai nisf imaan hai,” Dr Turner tweeted with a picture of himself with two bags of trash that he had collected and hashtagged Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat and Clean Green Pakistan.

His tweet was responded by many that forced the CDA chairman to direct his team to install new dustbins and start cleanliness operation.
