Man dies, three hurt in clash

SHIKARPUR, Jan 22: A villager was shot dead and three others were wounded in a clash between Marfani tribesmen and a group of robbers outside Mubarakpur.

A group of armed men tried to rob a driver, Punhal Sanjrani, of his tractor but he drove it away.

On receiving information, the tractor owner, Sikandar Kakepoto, with police, his employees and villagers belonging to Marfani tribe followed the foot prints of the culprits towards village Mubarakpur.

The robbers and their supporters while seeing them coming to their village came out with arms and opened fire on them.

The landlord’s employees returned the fire while the policemen fled.

In the exchange of fire, Gulan Sanjrani was killed and Punhal, Mehboob and Imamuddin were seriously wounded.

Humayoon police have registered the case against 12 Marfani tribesmen including Sachal, Raban and others.

POLIO A three-day anti-polio campaign started on Tuesday.

The district Nazim, M. Arif Khan Mehar, inaugurated the campaign by administering polio drops to the children at the RBUT Civil Hospital.

ROBBERY: A villager, Hakim Ali Baloch, was deprived of his motorcycle by three armed bandits near the Khan Buriro village on Monday.
