Jeweller held for staging theft drama

KARACHI: Police on Thursday arrested the jeweler who had lodged a complaint at the Clifton police station a couple of days back about “theft of Rs100 million-worth gold jewellery” in his Gulf Shopping Mall shop.

The jeweller, Muhammad Asif Memon, and his alleged accomplice, Waseem, were arrested after police investigators discovered that he had staged the drama of theft after losing a big amount of money in gambling/satta. The missing jewellery was recovered from Waseem’s shop.
