MIRPURKHAS, Oct 20: District Nazim Dr Kaneez Sughra Junejo has directed officers to prepare development schemes with appropriate designs. She said that construction material be properly checked so that development schemes met the required standard and specification.

She was speaking at a briefing on behalf of EDO finance and EDO works and services at her office on Thursday.

On the occasion, her elder brother Asad Ali Junejo, DCO Khursheed Naeem Malik, officers of different departments were also present.

EDO finance Asif Iqbal Memon, EDO works and services Syed Pervez Ali Shah briefed her about performance of their departments, basic works, funds and problems faced by their departments.

Dr Junejo said she would make efforts to provide basic facilities to rural and urban areas and those areas which had been neglected by previous governments.

She directed to use funds properly and complete ongoing development works on the priority basis.

Earlier, DPO Mirpurkhas Nazeer Ahmed Shaikh gave briefing to her regarding efficiency of police department.

Meanwhile, Dr Kaneez Junejo has handed over a cheque of RS 2 lakhs to DDO revenue Asif Ikram on Thursday which was given by cotton ginners association Mirpurkhas for the help of victims of earthquake, said a handout on Thursday...EOM.

Relif goods: On behalf of district government Mirpurkhas, four more trucks loaded with relief goods have been sent to Pak Army 18 division Hyderabad for the help of the earthquake victims. According to handout issued on Thursday DCO Khursheed Naeem Malik said that people and NGOs were massively helping the victims by donating cash and different items at relief camps set up in the district.

KILLED: A seven-year-old girl was run over and killed by a motor rickshaw at Tando Adam road near Sarhandi village on Wednesday.

Fouzia, daughter of Karim Bux Solangi, was playing outside her house when a speedy motorcycle rickshaw crushed her to death.

People caught hold of teenage rickshaw driver Basheer Nohri and handed over to town police.

The enraged people raised slogans against the police and tried to attack police mobile but were dispersed by the police.

BISE: The board of intermediate and secondary education Mirpurkhas has asked the head of the educational institutions of district Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Umerkot and Sanghar, on Thursday to complete enrolment of new admission of 9th and 11th classes by Nov 10 so that 75 percent attendance might be monitor through computer.

This year, board will not conduct exam of 9th class however enrolment of such all candidates would be completed in November who intend to take exam in 2007.

Candidates who will not get their enrolment and pay first instalment of exam fee would not be allowed to appear in the exam in 2007.

Meanwhile, for affiliation of all private educational institutions inspection teams will inspect schools and colleges from November 15.
