TAXILA: The additional district and sessions judge Attock Ali Raza during his visit to the Attock district jail ordered release of nine different prisoners on personal bonds so that these prisoners’ could be able to celebrate the Eid with their families.
On this occasion, judicial magistrate Yasir Tanveer, Jail Superintendent Farrukh Rasheed, deputy Superintendent Afzaal Ahmed Warriach and other jail officers were also present. During his visit, the judge did rounds of the hospital, kitchen, different barracks; public call office established for prisoners, juvenile jail and checked the status of under construction different development projects. He expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness, food quality, security and arrangements made for enforcement of SOPs. The judge also appreciated the jail administration on the exemplary cleanliness in barracks and kitchen.
He visited the hospital of the jail and spent a considerable time with prisoners admitted there. The Lahore High Court had issued directives to the district and session judges to visit prisons within their jurisdiction to inspect facilities being provided to prisoners and other issues pertaining to the prison.
