Principal needed

THE Government Pakistan College, Saeedpur, in Badin district is without a permanent principal. At present, more than 1,200 students study at this college, including 160 female students in intermediate and more than 100 in the graduation programme.

This college was built by a local philanthropist and a well-wisher of society back in 1971. As the old building got dilapidated over the years, the government constructed a new building for the college in 1988.

At the moment, all matters related to the college are being handled by the principal of Government College, Matli, though there are two grade-18 candidates available to take the charge of the college. It has become a matter of great concern that the problems of the college are not being resolved timely.

Students and staff feel helpless under the circumstances. A quarterly budget, which is worth about Rs300,000, is being utilised without benefiting the college which is in dire need of furniture and other routine stuff.

Will this college continue to remain without the principal?
