Six killed in firing incidents

PESHAWAR, Oct 18: Six people were killed and three others injured in incidents of firing between rival groups in the Badhber locality on the outskirts of the city on Monday evening, locals and police said.

In the Bazidkhel village, Hakeem and his companions allegedly exchanged fire with his rivals Hakim Khan and his brother Danish. Hakim Khan, Danish and their relative Sajjad were killed.

Hakeem and two passersby were injured. They were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital, police sources said.

Passerby Ejaz Ali Shah was killed when Sabir and his rival Hayat exchanged fire in the Kanday Omarkhel village. Ejaz’s brother lodged a case with the Badhber police and held Hayat, Mustafa and Faqir responsible for the killing.

In the Balukhel village, Shafiullah and his rival Mukhtar traded fire, killing a pedestrian, Saifullah. Police have started search for the two accused following registration of a case against them.

Meanwhile, Sherin, a farmer of the Surizai village, died when a stray bullet him.
