BALAKOT, Oct 18: Even ten days after the earthquake hit the country on October 8, no relief aid has reached the Sanghar village near Balakot. Thousands of injured, including women and children, are forced to live in the open despite cold weather and rain. The process of pulling out bodies from the debris is continuing and the chance of diseases spreading due to decomposing bodies has increased a lot.
Some armed groups of dacoits have also started to plunder the inhabitants of the area who are in a miserable condition.
The people of the area said that earlier the plunderers were busy in Balakot but after the deployment of the Pakistan Army there, the dacoits had started looting villages.
They said that on Sunday night, 25 dacoits who looked like Afghans looted the villagers on gunpoint.
The people of the area have requested the government and the Pakistan Army not only to provide them food and medicines but also take action against the dacoits and plunderers.—Online
