Tourist facilitation centres set up at Makli, Keenjhar Lake

THATTA: Thatta police has set up ‘tourist facilitation centres’ in the vicinity of Makli necropolis and Keenjhar Lake to provide timely help to tourists and bolster public trust in law enforcers, according to Hyderabad range DIG Sharjeel Karim Kharal.

He told journalists after inaugurating a centre at Makli necropolis along with Thatta SSP Dr M. Imran Khan that sufficient number of police officials had been deployed at the centres for guidance, assistance and safety of thousands of tourists visiting the two internationally famous spots throughout the year, particularly on weekends.

He said that police personnel would keep round-the-clock vigil to avert untoward incidents, maintain law and order and congenial atmosphere at the picnic sites.

He appreciated Thatta SSP for the initiative and for overall performance of the district police. He also inspected ongoing repair and renovation work of police buildings and inaugurated complaint cell, women and children protection cell and tourists facilitation unit.
