ABBOTABAD, Oct 14: Health Minister Dr Inyatullah Khan has said that the NWFP government has deployed more helicopters and medical teams to speed up the rescue and relief work in quake-affected areas.
Speaking at a news conference at the Ayub Medical Complex here on Friday, he said that two helicopters of Save the Children were being utilized to reach the quake-affected areas of the NWFP.
He said medical teams had been dispatched to Allai, Battagram and Banta (Kaghan area).
Health care centres had been established and patients were treated there. Three tented villages would be established at Abbottabad, Balakot by Unicef and at Battagram by Save the Children.
The minister said that a vaccination programme in all the quake areas had been started.
Mr Khan said that around 2,500 patients had been accommodated in different hospitals of Hazara while with the help of Sheikh Zayed Hospital a 400-bed hospital had been established at the Postgraduate College, Mansehra, and more could be sent to Haripur, Tarbela, Peshawar and other places.—PPI
