MARDAN: The newly-formed Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Pakistan (JUI-P) will hold a public meeting on the Ring Road near Swaryaan Toru here on March 28 to show its strength.

This was announced by former MNA Maulana Shujaul Mulk while speaking at a news conference at the Mardan Press Club on Friday.

The party was formed after chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman expelled some noted leaders from the party for opposing his stance on some issues.

Accompanied by his party workers, Mr Mulk said Maulana Sherani, Maulana Gul Naseeb, Hafiz Hussain Ahmad and other leaders would participate in the public gathering.

He said he along with other party workers would welcome the central leaders at the Rashakai interchange on the Mardan-Peshawar Motorway.

He accused Maulana Fazlur Rehman of hijacking JUI-F for the last 20 years.

Maulana Mulk claimed he was expelled from JUI-F when he pointed out rigging in the intra-party elections.

He argued that the party constitution barred anyone from hurling allegations or protesting against the security forces of Pakistan.

He declared that they had rejected the inherited politics as it was weakening democracy in the country.

Maulana Mulk asked the people to join hands with them to bring an Islamic revolution in the country as it was the only solution to all their problems.
