RAWALPINDI: The police have registered a case under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 against unidentified persons involved in the killing of traffic warden Naveed Khan and launched investigations.
Mr Khan’s funeral prayers were offered at Police Lines Headquarters on Friday. A police contingent saluted the martyred traffic warden. Besides, senior police officers, a large number of police personnel attended the funeral.
The official was gunned down by unidentified persons while he was on duty at a police check post near Railway Carriage factory Pirwadhai on Thursday night. Khan was born on Jan 6, 1986 in Katarian and he joined the police department as a traffic warden on Oct 25, 2007. He has left a widow and two daughters behind.
Chief Traffic Officer Rai Mazhar Iqbal said in a statement that police have been standing with the family and relatives of the martyred traffic warden.
