MULTAN: Colourful activities were organised in connection with Seraiki Culture Day here on Saturday.
Wearing blue Seraiki Ajraks, people performed Seraiki Jhumar dance to the beats of drums and shahnai. In his message in connection with Seraiki Culture Day, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar stated that the Punjab is the custodian of Pakistan’s culture and ancient traditions and to promote brotherhood and unity the Punjab government is celebrating the days of regional cultures.
“Seraiki civilization is a mixture of love, affection, unity and sincerity while Seraiki Ajrak is an ancient symbol of the region,” he said. A major activity was held at Multan Tea House which was largely attended by the people of all walks of life.
Zahoor Dhareja of Seraiki Soba Mahaz said that the living nations always cherish their civilization and culture.
“Pakistan is a beautiful bouquet of different cultures. Seraiki Ajrak is another name for love, tolerance and peace. The blue color of Seraiki Ajrak is a metaphor for everlasting love and loyalty,” he said. He said that Seraiki region always produced eminent personalities in politics, culture, sports and every field of life.
