Punjab has recorded another spike in Covid-19 fatalities with 50 deaths confirmed in the last 24 hours. The provincial death toll has risen to 5,441 — the highest in Pakistan.

It also recorded 712 new cases, up from 629 a day earlier, and the second time this week that the province has reported more than 700 new infections. Punjab's caseload now stands at 554,255.
