TAXILA: Land record and computer accessories turned to ashes in fire which erupted in the Fatehjang computerised land record centre on Saturday.

According to district emergency officer Dr Ishfaq Mian, after receiving information about the fire, the Rescue 1122 control room sent fire tenders to the site which extinguished the fire about half an hour.

According to sources in the land record centre, the fire erupted due to a short circuit in the main server.

Sources said land record especially related to various newly launched housing societies were destroyed during the incident.
