HYDERABAD, Oct 12: The Tando Mohammad Khan district PPP has announced to suspend all political activities for one week in view of the loss of lives in the Azad Kashmir and NWFP due to massive earthquake.
The decision was taken at the district workers’ convention here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the district president of the party and former MPA, Haji Mohammad Amin Lakho, criticized the federal government for failing to provide help to the victims.
Meanwhile, the relief committee appointed by the newly elected district nazim of the Tando Mohammad Khan district, Mir Inayat Ali Talpur, dispatched two trucks on Tuesday loaded with wheat, rice, sugar and cloth for the earthquake victims.
The committee had also collected Rs450,000 for the victims.
The district nazim also appointed committees at the union council level to collect relief goods.
Namaz-e-Janaza in absentia was held at the central Eidgah, Tando Mohammad Khan, for those who died in the earthquake.—Bureau
