Consumers resent detection power bills
MIRPURKHAS, Oct 12: Detection bills, issued by the officials of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Corporation, Hesco, Mirpurkhas division, are causing resentment among the consumers.
A number of consumers complained that they were being issued detection bills citing reasons of over consumption of electricity, changed phases, neutral break and earth system.
The consumers including Mohammad Aslam, Najeebur Rehman, Akbar Khan, Furqan, Faqeer Mohammad, Jamal and others called upon the higher authorities to order an inquiry into the issuance of detection bills to cover line losses.
They claimed that no surveillance team and meter and testing department team visited their houses to check meters but the Hesco men issued them detection bills on false assumptions.
They further said that when any consumer approaches SDO or XEN to rectify detection bill, he is usually told that it was issued on recommendations of the surveillance and M&T department teams.
Hesco Executive Engineer Laiq Ahmed Khan, when contacted, denied consumers’ allegation and said that bills were being issued as per legal procedure.
QUAKE FEAR: Panic gripped the Government Shah Abdul Latif Science College here on Wednesday, when a portion of a cemented plaster of a roof in a classroom suddenly fell.
The students and teachers ran out of the class in panic. Students from other classes also came out in fear. No one was injured.
BODY FOUND: Kot Ghulam Mohammad police have fished out a body of a man from Jamrao canal.
People saw the body floating in the canal and informed the police on Tuesday. The body was fished out with the help of people and was shifted to the taluka hospital of Kot Ghulam Mohammad where it was identified as Bhanji Kolhi, 35, son of Kanjo Kolhi.
