LAHORE, Jan 21: The taxation and inspection systems will be transferred to the private sector to protect the investors from undue botheration they have to face at the hands of government officials in the two fields.

This was stated by Punjab Governor Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbool (retired) while formally opening a food unit in the Township industrial area here on Monday. The unit had been lying sick for the past many years and the Corporate Industrial Reconstruction Corporation (CIRC) had privatized it in July last.

Governor Maqbool said there would be no government interference in the business sector and soon private companies would be assigned the tasks of carrying out electricity, motor vehicle inspection, etc.

Assuring the industrialists present on the occasion that the government would support their every initiative and remove all obstacles coming their way, he urged them to transact their business in a transparent way.
