Illegal structures removed in Bisham city

SHANGLA: The tehsil municipal administration on Wednesday launched an anti-encroachment drive in the Bisham city.

Tehsil municipal officer Fazal Hamid told mediapersons that the anti-encroachment drive had been launched on the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He said illegal structures and kiosks hindering free movement of pedestrians were removed from the city roads and streets.

He said TMA officials, workers and police personal were taking part in the drive.

He said handcarts and pushcarts were shifted to other places from the main Karakoram Highway.

In a separate development, the Chawga police arrested a drug peddler and recovered hashish from him.

SHO Dawood Khan said during routine checking in Shekolai area of Makhozi tehsil the police arrested peddler Imran of Shekolai and registered a case against him.

Also in the day, Bisham assistant commissioner Khuram Rehman Jadoon imposed fine on two nanbais for selling bread of low weight, and a hairdresser for unhygienic environment at his outlet.

The official was accompanied by his staff and police personnel.
