LAHORE: The Punjab government has reported that coronavirus claimed 11 more lives during the past 24 hours taking the tally of total deaths in Punjab to 5,037.

Of 11 deaths, four have been reported from Lahore, three from Sahiwal and one each from Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan and Sialkot.

As many as 466 new cases have been reported in Punjab during the past 24 hours making the total Covid-positive patients to 163,883 cases in Punjab.

The highest number 220 new cases have been reported from Lahore, 49 from Faisalabad, 37 from Okara, 25 each from Sargodha and Khushab, 21 from Rawalpindi, 16 from Rahim Yar Khan and 15 from Toba Tek Singh.

The Punjab primary and secondary healthcare department spokesman says the department has so far conducted 3.102 million tests and added that 151,551 coronavirus patients had recovered in the province.

The spokesman said people should ensure protective measures to save themselves from the coronavirus infection. In case there were some symptoms, the spokesman said such persons should immediately contact 1033.
