Man, son shot dead on return from Dera court
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Rivals shot dead a man and his son when they were returning from a court hearing here on Wednesday, the police said.
A police official said the incident occurred on the Kirri-Shamozai Road near the Chashma Sugar Mills-II.
He said Shahid Ustrana, a son of the deceased Pir Daad Ustrana, 52, lodged a report mentioning they had a personal enmity with the rival group. He said his father and 16-year-old brother, Arafat Ustrana, were returning home after appearing in a court on a motorcycle, when their opponents hiding in a forest opened fire, killing them on the spot.
The complainant said he was behind the victims riding on another motorcycle, adding the accused managed to escape.
The Paroa police registered a case against accused persons, including Alamgir, Majeed, Samiullah, Alamgir and Akram Ustrana of Mangal area.
Meanwhile, armed men took away an oil tanker with 40,000 litres of diesel in Giloti area on Wednesday.
The vehicle was going to Serai Naurang.
An official of Yarik police station said Manzoor Ahmad Chauhan, a resident of Bahawalnagar, Punjab, and conductor Qalam Din of Tank lodged a report that six armed men in a car came there, blindfolded them and took them to a nearby sugarcane field and snatched mobile phones from them. Later, the accused set them free.
The police registered a case against the unidentified men and started further investigations.
