FAISALABAD: The District Petrol Pump Committee has simplified the process of setting up new petrol pumps by reducing the number of departments involved in issuing no objection certificates from 14 to five.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali. The assistant commissioners concerned will submit report regarding verification/authentication of land ownership, width of road, front of the proposed site, assessment/recovery of condonation fee, availability of irrigation channel, availability of Sui gas pipeline, PTCL line and electricity poles.
The Highways department will give NOC of site map about right of way, the chief traffic officer would report about traffic issues, civil defence officer would report about checking and security of equipment and chief officer of concerned MC/TC autonomous body/FDA would report about building plan and TO planning of concerned municipal corporation or town committee would provide NOC/report about conversion of land, recovery of fee through DPDC.
The committee abolished the restriction of NOCs from Sui gas (distribution), Sui gas (operations), PTCL, irrigation, environment, FESCO, Forests, FDA and other departments/agencies. The DC said the step had been taken under the Punjab government initiative of ensuring ease in doing business
He said the district administration was playing its due role in promoting business activities and on receipt of reports from five concerned departments, applications for setting up of petrol pumps would be dealt with expeditiously and NOCs should be issued within 45 days.
