Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah says Covid-19 vaccination in the province will begin from Wednesday.
He said vaccination centres will be set up in 10 districts with the highest percentage of coronavirus infections, while police and Rangers will provide security during the campaign.
Shah said the province will receive the vaccine produced by China's Sinopharm, while Covax will provide the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines to the country. Sindh will receive around 82,000 doses from the 500,000 doses China has promised to gift Pakistan.
The province could not place an order for procuring vaccines itself because the federal government hasn't yet provided permission for doing so in writing, the minister added.
