PESHAWAR, Oct 8: Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer on Saturday said that he has almost sorted out the players who are likely to figure in the forthcoming home series against England.
“We have in mind the players to be selected for the England series and these side matches will have no bearing on selection of the team as they are being played so that the players gain useful match practice,” Woolmer told reporters.
The former South African coach said that there was no such thing as predictions in cricket.
“I do not make predictions and one has to depend on the form on the given day.”
Woolmer denied the fact that Pakistan lack mental fitness and said that it was puzzling for him as why people in Pakistan think that their cricketers were not mentally fit.
“Winning series against India in India is an example of mental toughness. And beating West Indies in the Caribbean needs a lot of mental toughness,” he clarified.
Woolmer further noted that England may had won last series in Pakistan but one had to learn lessons from the past and not to repeat what had happened before.—AP
