SIALKOT, Oct 8: A proclaimed offender was killed in an encounter with the Cantonment police near Maraakiwal village late on Friday night. Reports said Abdul Shakoor, along with two accomplices, had driven away with a villager’s motorcycle after which the Cantonment police, on a tip-off, chased them.

In a shootout that followed, PO Abdul Shakoor died on the spot while his two companions managed to escape. The police claimed that the deceased was wanted in several cases of heinous crime.
