KHAIRPUR, Oct 7: The former district nazim of Khairpur, Ms Nafisa Shah, has alleged that rules of secret balloting were violated at different polling stations and, in certain cases, ADP councillors were kidnapped and brought in police mobiles for voting.

Speaking to delegations at Jilani House here on Friday, Ms Shah said that despite rigging and forcibly obtaining votes from the ADP councillors, her panel gave the ruling party allies a tough time.

She said that till late Thursday night, the ADP women councillors were being threatened of kidnapping.

She told that at Pir Jo Goth polling station, the councillors were brought in PML-F workers’ custody and forced to cast votes in their presence. After having stamped the ballot papers they were asked to show it to confirm the votes in favour of PML-F backed candidates.

In Gambat taluka, councillors were forcibly brought in police mobiles to cast their votes and in Nara taluka, a clash took place when the ADP councillors resisted kidnapping attempt, which resulted into injuries to some councillors, she added.

Fifteen people including ADP candidate for taluka nazim, Nara were booked for kidnapping.

Sikeelado Aradeen had lodged an FIR with the Sorah police late on Thursday evening under section 364, 337A, 147, 148, 149 PPC against the ADP candidate taluka Nara, including Abdul Qayoom Wassan, Abdul Sattar Wassan, Abdul Hafeez Wassan, Khalid Hussain Rajpar, Pyaro Mari, Mohammad Ali Mari, Leemon Sehto and others.

The complainant stated in the FIR that the accused persons attacked them near Chondiko town, injured the complainant Ismail and Meenhon Mari and kidnapped Yar Mohammad Aradeen.

On the other hand, ADP candidate Nara taluka, Abdul Qayoom Wassan has lodged an FIR against five accused on Thursday evening with Sorah police under section 364, 337A, 147, 148, 149 PPC stating that the accused persons injured Asadullah, brother of the complainant, Abdul Sattar Wassan, Abdul Hafeez and Abdul Aleem were kidnapped. The accused include Khadim Aradeen, Bakht Aradeen, Meenhon Mari, Dil Murad Pathan and Irshad Aradeen.

ASI INJURED: An ASI of the police was injured while foiling a robbery bid on Thursday evening.

Receiving reports that around seven armed men were busy in looting a Sadiqabad-bound coach near Pir Mangrio Village on national highway.

Seeing the police mobile, the coach driver stopped the vehicle near it. The armed men opened fire at the police. As a result, ASI Ahmed Bux Maitlo sustained bullet injuries, who was admitted to civil hospital, Khairpur. In another incident, a tractor hit a police mobile of DSP headquarter, Khairpur on the National Highway near Therhi on Thursday night As a result of the accident, constable Sajjad Ali Siyal received injuries.
