PESHAWAR: Peshawar deputy commissioner Mohammad Ali Asghar on Wednesday inaugurated the digitisation of all the properties of the city district administration in the provincial metropolis with a view to facilitating the people.

Officials of relevant departments, including city district government director general Shafeeq-ur-Rehman, assistant director local government Waheed-ur-Rehman and others were also present on the occasion, according to a statement.

During a briefing, the revenue officials said the digitisation of government properties had been preserved through a special software which had all the details about commercial, residential properties, open and auctioned plots.

The details about court cases regarding any plot would also be available to the citizens online.

In addition, the tenants would have the opportunity to pay the rent of the city district government’s commercial properties through banks on the pattern of utility bills.

The relevant people would be able to get information regarding rent payment through text messages on cellular mobile phones.

It was stated that the online details about open, disputed and auctioned plots would help people avoid any complications usually created by the land mafia.

The deputy commissioner appreciated the relevant staff for digitisation of the land record and asked other departments to follow the suit.

He said the provincial government would soon be briefed about the computerised land record process.
