SAHIWAL: Sewage from a broken pipeline flowed into more than four dozen houses at village 90/9-L in Rehmanipura locality four days back and no one paid attention to the issue despite the fact that residents filed many written complaints to the local municipal authorities.

Bashir Ahmed, a resident, said a week ago the main sewer pipe connected with the 9-L canal [under the bridge] had broken down as a result of which dirty water [first] accumulated on the road and streets and [then] flowed into houses.

He said more than four dozens houses complained of dirty water.

Javed Ahmed, a local shopkeeper, said locals were facing a great deal of inconvenience during visits to mosque as well. He said residents filed complaints with the respective authorities but nobody came to resolve the issue.

The residents have appealed to Sahiwal Commissioner Nadir Chattha to get the sewerage repaired at the earliest.
