IN this modern era when everything is going digital, Gilgit-Baltistan is still deprived of reliable 4G services. The SCOM network available in the area provides 4G services, but its connectivity is too weak and not available in some of the villages.
Due to the second wave of Covid-19, every educational institution is closed, forcing students to take online classes. Unfortunately, students in GB cannot attend the classes due to relatively poor internet connectivity. Students in GB, residing in different cities, now avoid going to their villages, for they lack adequate internet facilities.
The government should to pay attention to this issue and ensure smooth and uninterrupted 4G facilities in the region.
