KARACHI: Newly appointed Director General of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Maj Gen Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry on Thursday took charge at a ceremony arranged at Rangers’ headquarters.

Outgoing DG Rangers Maj Gen Omar Ahmed Bukhari handed over command to the new DG, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, the outgoing chief of the paramilitary force, Maj Gen Bukhari, held a farewell meeting with IGP Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar at Central Police Office.

The provincial police chief during the meeting appreciated the services of the outgoing paramilitary chief for maintaining law and order in Sindh, particularly in Karachi.

The former DG Rangers on the occasion appreciated the role of Sindh police with regard to law and order, according to another press release issued by the Rangers spokesperson.
