Nazims urged to vote for PML hopefuls

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Oct 4: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has urged the nazims and councillors to elect PML-backed candidates in the larger interest of their district. He was addressing a gathering of elected representatives and dignitaries at Jinnah Public School here on Tuesday.

He said: “I had started my political career as a councillor some 22 years ago. I want to see Mandi Bahauddin a developed district. If you elect our candidates in the last phase of local government polls, you will get more funds for the development of your area.”

The chief minister said the government ensured supply of natural gas with a sum of Rs230 million to Mandi Bahauddin city and the facility would be extended to other areas.

He announced Rs100 million grant for the Jinnah Public School.

He also directed the DCO to arrange stone-lying ceremony of the Mandi press club building at the earliest and announced release of Rs1 million for the purpose.

Earlier, he inaugurated second floor of the Jinnah Public School.

Later, he visited Parianwali and Phalia and talked to MPs and LB representatives.

BOOKED: Ruthiala Sheikhan police have registered a case against 10 people for allegedly beating up Young Lawyers Forum Vice-President Arshad Mahmood Luk on Tuesday morning.

The lawyer alleged that he was injured at the behest of Kuthiala Sheikhan Nazim Khizar Hayat.
