The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has suspended all educational activities at madressahs across the province in view of increasing positivity rate of Covid-19 cases during the second coronavirus wave, till further orders.

An order issued by the KP home department said violators of the restriction will be penalised under the relevant law.

KP Home Secretary Ikramullah Khan said the decision was taken in the public's larger interest and appealed to ulema to cooperate with the government until the pandemic is over.
